In Islam, voting is basically being vocal and active in religious arenas. When the moderate mulims didn’t “vote” (being passive and unparticipatory), the Extremists took over Islam and the Islamic agenda.
Muslims are waking up late to that.
We have promoted being vocal and aware from 2005 in IRSHAD. We have promoted departing from sectarian rhetorics and defeating the Sectarian labels. We have promoted re-reading of history and removing immunity from all holy figures and texts. We have promoted a true, honest, and objective re-examining of our Islamic doctrines and positions.
The majority of Muslims agree with our movement and identify with it. But the ones that are willing to “vote” are few. Our speakers were isolated intentionally from all local mosques and conventions and still are.
When people don’t vote, we forfeit truth, and embolden bigotry and hatred.

Congratulations Royal Oak Middle School … you became a symbol of racism, hatred, and bigotry nationwide.
Make me Dean of Students for two weeks and I will straighten it out for you.
Here is what I would do:
1. An assembly every Friday on inclusiveness and tolerance and coexistence.
2. Investigate the incidence and put every chanting student on probation for racial harassment, and require them to attend anti bullying sessions with Social Worker/Counselor.
3. Twin the school with a Mexican school and offer Spanish classes immediately.
4. Announce November as a Latino American heritage month ( in addition to Sept 15-Oct 15 National Hispanic Heritage Month)
5. Bring Immigrant speakers as guest speakers to classrooms.
6. Plan a trip to Mexico for my Senior class.
7. Coordinate with Hispanic local organizations, ACLU, and the Mexican Embassy to bring programs to school to facilitate understanding.

Lessons For Trump’s America from the Ukrainian Revolution
With a polarized country heading to the unknown next Tuesday, it would be a good idea to study the Ukrainian 2014 revolution and the clash for 4 months with the government that ended the unfavorable elected government and replaced it with a European Union friendly government.
If the government makes decisions that defies people’s will, aspiration, and power, then the people are left with the option of peaceful protest.
There was a price Ukrainians paid, which was the best men Ukraine has to offer sacrificed in this noble cause.

Lessons for long term protestors:
- Have defense groups for protestors
- Take direct votes from the people
- Establish medical centers
- Secure premise against riot police
- Give a roll to each single protestor and form heirchy and tree of communication.
- Have anti tear gas equipment.
- Use media heavily to capture every corner of the premise
- Position yourself strategically and avoid being exposed to high points not under your control.
- Use fire to block riot police attacks
- Have a fire extinguisher in every tent.
- Have a list of demands.
- Have negotiators but not leaders who represent you. The final decision is the crowd’s by voting.

In 1990’s … the ISIS of the world was the Christian Orthodox Serbian forces … but unfortunately there was no Youtube.

If Youtube existed then, ISIS would look like doves compared to those beasts.
The problem in the world is not a religion … it is a bad species … delusional human beings … who with the right theological structure , can do so much evil.

1. Religion/faith is personal and should be undeclared. (Separation of church and state)
2. Indoctrinate children on critical thinking, educate them on science, and let them pick their own spirituality at maturity.
3. Justice supersedes religion
4. Human wellbeing and quality of life is the bases of all decision making.
