Mass is something. Energy is nothing.

2017:

Mass is nothing (a property that energy exhibits). Nothing is energy. Nothing is everything. Everything is nothing. I am hungry.

Our common sense does not work at the speed of light.

Dear Parents

Once your kid is 16 years old, he/she should not take a penny from you. Let them work in McDonalds or any where, and learn real life.

Give them direction, but don’t solve their problems.

Don’t get them leases on your name. Let them buy a used car or use public transportation.

Don’t send them vacations. Send them to study or work abroad.

Give them books in their birthday.

Buy them ingredients to make a sandwich, don’t buy them a sandwich.

Raise productive positive members of society, not spoiled motorcycle and mustang brats.

Complaining about a finite life is like complaining about a finite amount won in lottery.

Nothing happens for a “reason” , other than you screwing up, being ill prepared, or being unrealistic.

Adjust expectations and plans, and keep going.

Personal revulsion is not moral revulsion. Otherwise, eating broccoli would be immoral to most people.

A 1998 survey by UFT found that 1 out 4 public school biology teachers believe that humans and dinosaurs inhabited the earth simultaneously. I wonder if the ration is the same 20 years after.

There is a difference between respecting peoole’s sensitivities towards their believes, and granting those believes immunity from critical scrutiny.
