Conspiracy theories about corona virus are due to lack of understanding of evolution as much as conspiracy theories about earth quakes and tornados thousands of years ago were due to lack of understanding of geology.

Hey Arabs,
ON THE CENSUS 2020,
RACE:
OTHER
then type:
ARAB.
Please don’t pick white, because you are not.
Please don’t pick your original nationality as your race (eg. Lebanese, Palestinian, Egyptian) because that is colonial project and not your race (personal cake splitting between Sykes and Picot 1917).
Please don’t pick “Middle Eastern” because it is a racist term invented by the British colonialism (eg. Germany is West and Morocco is East although Morocco is West Of Germany and Britain).
And for my Chaldean, Kurdish, Maronite, Yazidi, Mendawee, Barbar, Amazeegh, etc… you can be that and be Arab at the same time. Arab is a self identity that has todo with an existential emotional and historical and cultural belonging to that area that speaks Arabic in general.
Keep choosing OTHER – ARAB till they recognize us as a minority.
Thank you

What an irony that humans took a break from killing each other (war in Yemen and Syria) when a virus is killing them all.

If everyone’s first question after any unsubstantiated statement is: “what is the source?”, we will combat the false information pandemic.
اذا كان السؤال الأول بعد كل خبر او مقولة غير مثبتة هو: “ما هو المصدر؟” لوقفنا بوجه تفشّي وباء المعلومات الكاذبة.

The most dangerous members of our community are those who hold distrust or grudges or ill feelings to other members of the community. These sow division and will always be an obstacle in front of the community’s progress.
I will no longer tolerate any position of hatred or animosity shared with me, and I will confront it to isolate it from effecting community work.

One good thing out of this:
The forced integration of technology in all business and institutions.
I always felt frustrated as people and businesses ignored the use of newly developed technologies to ease life and improve efficiencies, teachers rejecting to change and learn new tools and communicate electronically, and government not putting measures to support such technologies.
Now, everyone is on board by order of government or with a threat of losing lively hood.
This will be a big push for Silicon Valley in years ahead.
