Sexual Orientation and Gender Identites

Many terms are used today with confusion between them in the subject of sexual and gender identities. Let’s clarify these terms to use them correctly:

A. Biological sex:

1. Male XY (1 per 2)

2. Female XX (1 per 2)

3. Male AIS-XY (2-5 per 100K)

4. Male or Female CAH (1 per 10k)

5. XXY (1 per 500)

6. Y (does not survive – 1 per 2000-3000)

7. X (1 per 2000-5000) 

8. Yx (1 in 100k females)

9. XXy (1 In 20,000)

10. XYY (1 in 1000)

11. Male XX (1 In 20K-30K)

12. Hermaphrodite (1.7% of population)

13. XX-DSD (1 in 20k males)

14. XX- Mullerian Agenesis (1 in 4500-5000)

Anatomical. Not by choice

B. Sexual orientation

1. Heterosexual 

2. Homosexual

3. Bisexual

4. Pansexual

5. Asexual

6. Demisexual

7. Queer

The scientific consensus is that sexual orientation is not a choice. 

C. Gender identity 

A person’s deeply felt internal sense of their gender. Deeply personal and subjective. 

Its expression may be seen as a choice, although some might argue that. 

There is no set number of gender identities. There have been over 112 various gender identities. 

D. Personal/Fantasy expression 

Although based on personal subjective feelings, its expression is a choice.
